Cassandra was the daughter of Priam and Hecuba. Apollo fell in love with her and blessed her with the gifts of prophecy, knowledge, and clairvoyance. When Cassandra resisted Apollo's advances he cursed her such that no one would believe her prophecies despite the veracity of what she said.
